Phytochemical Screening, Antibacterial and Antioxidant Activities of Ocimum basilicum L. Cultivated in Biskra, Algeria

Algerian flora contains a wide range of aromatic plants great therapeutic interest thanks to their biologically active secondary metabolites which makes them subject scientific interest. In this work, we were interested in Ocimum basilicum L. Lamiaceae family cultivated and harvested Biskra city located at South-East Algeria. Phytochemical screening has been per-formed reveal the presence flavonoids, tannins, coumarins, essential oil, other phytochemicals. The contents total polyphenols, flavonoids tannins have determined. obtained oil extracts antibacterial antioxidant assays. Our outcomes confirmed that multiplicity potential phytochemicals with considerable amount can be used as an alternative natural source components.
